Testimony

“In my first Trager session I discovered a previously unconscious way that I held tension in my body. My experience in that session helped ease that tension throughout my body, and I entered a relaxed and calm dimension that I had no memory of ever experiencing before. A new kind of at-ease-ment / calm infused my body. At the close of the session I also experienced an opening in my self-awareness that has increased in the months that followed. In addition, tips given me by the Trager Practitioner, Caroline, have stayed with me and supported my desire to change my posture, particularly when walking.”

GM, Clinical Educator

The TRAGER Approach

Milton Trager, MD, (1908 - 1997) developed his own form of bodywork, a unique way of helping people move and feel better by attentively “listening to their bodies with his hands”. He would ask the questions: How can movement be freer, softer, easier, more complete? How does it want to be?

Out of this careful dialogue with the tissue and mind of the receiver, the Trager® practitioner eventually mobilizes the entire body through gentle, wave-like rocking and shimmering movements. These calming, little movements initiate a deep sense of relaxation and peace, enticing our nervous system into letting go of outgrown, restrictive movement and holding patterns.

By experiencing something positive, something that feels good, and that we treasure remembering, new neural pathways can be created that invite more freedom, joy and well-being into our life.
